Aquarius Full Moon: The Rise of the Feminine

We have an Aquarius Full Moon coming up on August 19, 2024 at 2:26 PM EDT. This date is also the date of the start of the Democratic National Committee’s convention in Chicago and is charged with lots of energy. I believe this chart speaks of the re-emergence of the feminine (yin) to her rightful place of power alongside the masculine, so I talk mostly about that. I say that without any political bias, simply an observation about what I see happening in the world within the context of what I see as the major shift humanity is undergoing.

Although I touch on the convention, I chose not to focus on specific predictions of what may or may not happen. With Uranus strongly involved in this chart, what will happen is anyone’s guess, and, frankly, that statement is true about the future, generally. But if we understand the process we are undergoing, we can do our best to keep showing up for it, including showing up for our reactions to what happens.

Ultimately, getting to the future is an inner path. Or, rather, the future that arrives on our doorstep, individually and collectively, depends on our inner processes, the practice of which we build up, consciously or unconsciously, over time, the future being the result of whatever we have grooved into being. That means that it is our job to process what comes up for us, to heal what is there for us to heal within us, to consciously work, as best as we are able, to change the old patterns that do not support our health and well-being, individually or collectively.

With regard to actions in the world, there is an interesting aspect in the chart that I didn’t talk about in the video. It is a tredecile aspect between Mars and the South Node. Mars is action. The South Node is the past. According to Robert Wilkinson, the tredecile is about being in the right place at the right time. In other words, somehow, we have the precise skills and know-how that are needed for a given event that arises.¹

I think that is how it is supposed to be. When we show up day after day doing what is there for us to do, healing, getting to know ourselves, discerning our path, and cultivating our gifts and talents, I think life lands us just where we are most needed.

One clarification about the novile series having to do with joy. According to the article I was thinking about in the video, it is not just joy, but joy resulting from “acceptance of the world as it is”. ² Given the diceyness of our times, that perspective suggests we can let go of trying to change anything that is happening, instead finding our sweet spot within and allowing the change that must happen to do so. And if at any time action makes sense, we can do that with joy, also.
