We have a Scorpio New Moon coming up on November 1, 2024. The chart is fascinating, full of patterns, most contained within a larger, unifying pattern of a house. In the video, I share my thoughts on these patterns, focusing on how they might help us grow and heal.
The main themes I see can be framed as questions: What is the house we want to build in our lives? Who are we innately and so who do we want to be and become? And, finally, what patterns that are not in alignment with our highest truth and expression do we want to change and how do we do it?
Mars in Cancer
When talking about Mars in the video, I used the word stuck as it relates to our ability to take action in our lives. Stuck is a word that describes what can happen in the fixed modality. Since Mars rules Scorpio in traditional astrology, stuck is one way to think about the symbolism. But, because Mars is in the cardinal sign of Cancer, we can also think in cardinal terms. The work in the cardinal signs is to initiate. That work is a process that involves starting something and then stopping, starting again and then stopping again, etc.
A good metaphor for the action of the cardinal modality is that of trying to start a car in the winter. It will take a bit to get started. Then, after it starts, it might die, so you have to try again. After a few tries, it will finally take and you can drive the car. Cancer has to do with birthing something and it also has to do with nourishing and caring for ourselves.
When we try to change any habit, we can experience this pattern of starting then going back to our habitual patterns, then starting again, then going back, then starting again, etc. As wounds heal, we may find that our efforts finally take hold and we can more consistently care for ourselves in these ways or birth what we desire to give birth to.
Mentioned in the Video
In the video, I mentioned Leo King’s article on the mystic rectangle. It’s called Mystic Rectangle Aspect Pattern. The hyperlink will take you there.
